Day 4: Building a Community of Ideal Clients Who are Ready to Work With You
DAY #4 - Build Visibility + Community
This 5-day series is specifically designed for subject-matter experts who want to turn their service delivery into a sustainable, profitable and fulfilling business.
The BUILD Momentum Method™ serves as your roadmap for this content series and for the path that takes you to your first $50K in revenue and beyond.
If you love what you do as a subject-matter expert, but you’re confused about the “business side of things” and how to monetize and market your expertise, this is for you.
The Method that Takes You From Being an Overwhelmed, Underearning Subject-Matter Expert to a Confident and Profitable Business Owner
Building visibility and community is what we do to create demand for our services.
It’s really quite simple:
Get out there
Meet people
Share what you do
Provide value
Build trust
Make offers to help
The result?
A community of people who are ready to say yes to working with you.
So why does creating demand and filling client spots feel so overwhelming to subject-matter experts and service providers?
I hear things like:
I don't want to sell my services, I just want to deliver them.
-OR-
It feels awkward and uncomfortable to market myself.
The reasons why people shy away from and feel uncomfortable marketing themselves (the getting visible part) is because they are more concerned with how they are perceived by others than they are with serving them.
The good news is that…
There is a way to build visibility and a community that’s ready for your services without feeling icky about it. And it’s all based on you being more of who you already are… building a community of people who know, like and trust you… and offering to help.
Here’s what it takes to build visibility and a community of people who are ready to say to working with you:
1 | Be more of who you already are
The easiest person to be is yourself.
So why then do we allow our egos (ie. perfectionism) to stand in the way of just operating as our most authentic selves?
What tends to happen is that experts are not accustomed to working in the parts of their business that fall outside of service delivery. And when they hear “get visible” (ie. market yourself), they (subconciously) get awkward.
I want to offer you ease around this.
Each of us has, what I refer to as, a Communication Love Language. This is your natural communication style.
Perhaps you express yourself best through words.
Or maybe your personality shines most brightly when people experience you live - on stage or on video.
Or maybe you find it easiest to be yourself in one-on-one dialogue rather than in small or large groups.
Whatever the case, the way to be more of who you already are is to lean into the communication style you most enjoy and the one that feels easiest to deliver.
Adopting and implementing the latest strategies to become visible that don’t align with your Communication Love Language is a recipe for overwhelm and burnout. Because, simply put: It’s exhausting (and impossible!) to fit a square peg into a round hole.
You’ll find much more ease and enjoyment in your marketing when you just do you..
2 | Build a community of people who know, like and trust you
Another benefit of operating in a way that’s authentic to who you are is that you’ll attract your people… people who see you for who you are, like what you stand for, want to know more about you, and over time, develop a sense of trust in you.
Remember that how you make people feel matters more than the content you deliver. So when they feel seen and understood, they will gravitate toward your energy and want more of your presence.
As the leader, you set the tone and standards for what people can expect from you and from the collective.
And when you create space for them to feel the way they want to feel, your community becomes their hangout hub.
3 | Offer to help
You’re being you.
You’ve created space for people to come in and access what they’re looking for.
Next, you offer to help.
The way to help before someone becomes a client is to become a valuable resource for them.
Remember, they already know, like and trust you. By showing up in your community, they are asking for more of what they want and need to receive.
What can you give them?
FREE value.
This looks like showing up in service, with value-driven content that establishes your authority. It gives your community the sense that you are indeed expert at your craft. And if you continue to guide them on their own journey, they will want more.

There’s a lot of talk in the coaching world that makes it seem like building visibility and a community of ideal clients who are ready to work with you happens overnight.
This is not the case. And if creating demand for your services is something you’re struggling with, I want to normalize this for you.
This process takes time.
It takes personal growth and introspection.
And most of all, it takes commitment and consistency.
As you review Day #4, look at the visibility you’ve garnered and the community you’ve built. Has the growth been consistent, even if slow? Is there a piece of what we covered today that challenges you? Share your insights below – I’d love to hear from and support you!
In all of our programs, we use The BUILD Momentum Method™ to guide you into becoming an empowered, confident business owner.
